This is my entry for the Good vs. Evil contest. The idea for the image came from thoughts about how evil, while seeming to set us free to do anything we want without consequences, really enslaves us to itself while good frees us to reach ever upward.
The Bible verse written in the middle is Romans 12:9 "Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good." The image is first painted with acrylic paint on a board of poplar wood then carved with a rotary tool to outline and add detail. ----- The image of the hand is taken from this stock image [link] by pandora-gold-stock I'm glad I was able to find this image as I was having a very hard time trying to photograph my own hand.  |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
